Due to the shortcomings of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), such as excessive out of band radiation and high peak to average ratio (PAPR), new wireless air interface (NR) standard for 3G Partner Program (3GPP) of 5g mobile communication has been proposed by major communication manufacturers, including filtered OFDM, windowed OFDM, filter bank OFDM, etc. Considering the higher communication rate and bandwidth requirements of 5g, and being suitable for high frequency communication (especially millimeter wave band) above 6 GHz, 5g candidate waveform needs higher time-frequency efficiency and better out of band radiation characteristics to meet the requirements of 5g communication.
